TUESDAY 14th June   -   Harlington   -   A  summer evening walk
Meet Harlington Village Hall car park, leaving at 6pm.
A gentle walk for about an hour, across the fields and along Lower End,  through a small woodland area by the stream then heading back to Bury Orchard and our church where hopefully the sun will shine and you will join us for a drink and enjoy your evening picnic.

My walk on Thursday 16th June will be 6 miles. Start of walk 10 am Whitwell and St Paul’s Walden. Coffee and Picnic stop. We have a gentle climb out of the Mimram valley. Passing St Paul’s Walden Bury House, birthplace of the late Queen Mother in 1900 and stopping at St Paul’s Walden Church for coffee.Walking on through woods and fields. Passing Stagenhoe (Sue Ryder Home) and stopping for our picnic with a view. Parking at the far end of Whitwell High Street near bus stop. Past The Bull public house on the left. Emily’s Tea shop is open until 3pm if you fancy a cake and cup of tea after. Which is a very short drive from where we park. I hope you can join me and if you need a lift please phone me.  -   Sue

 It will be about three miles and very easy (no nasty hills!) Rosemary and I will be at Toddington Village Hall until 9.30 to give anyone a lift who needs one. We will then all meet at the Ashridge obelisk at about 10.10 and after the walk there will be coffee at the N.T. cafe. Looking forward to seeing you on 30th.-

At the end of the road bear left, there is a parking area. It’s not huge so car share if you can. We will stop at  the church in Lilley for lunch. Hopefully sitting in the sun on the benches. Priory Park / Danish Camp, WillingtonPark at Priory Country Park, Visitors Centre, Barkers Lane, Bedford, MK41 9DJ Start at 10.30 amWe will take a riverside walk, via Castle Mill Lock, where we will stop for a short coffee break. Then onto Danish Camp where we can have lunch in the very nice café overlooking the River Ouse.  Menus attached. We will get your choices on the day prior to starting the walk or preferably, to save time on the day, let Sue know beforehand of your choiceUnfortunately you can’t eat your own food at the Danish Camp, but it is fine to just have coffee/tea in the café and find somewhere along the way to have your picnic.We will return along the cycle track to Priory Park. Priory Park to Danish Camp: approx. 3+ miles, about 2 hours.  Danish Camp to Priory Park: approx. 2 miles, 1¼ hours You could arrange cars with someone if you feel this is too far and would like to walk one way from Priory Country Park to Danish Camp and have lunch. We will walk through Golden Valley to Frithden then through woods and fields to the Ashridge Monument then back through Sallow Copse to Golden Valley.
There will be a morning coffee break, and a picnic lunch at the Monument:          
You could buy lunch at the cafe but the queue can often be quite long. 
Start at the car park on the West side of the road through Little Gaddesden, opposite the B road to Hudnall, GR997128, at 10 am.
The car park is small, so car share if you can 
I will be at Toddington Village Hall car park ready to leave at 9.30 where we can arrange transport.

The walk is about 3 ½ miles & is a mixture of woods, fields & urban areas, on tracks, field paths & pavements. Leader - Penny

This walk will commence form Sundon Hills car park at 10.00 am (Grid Ref  TL 047285)
There will be a coffee stop part way through the walk but no lunch stop is planned

Sunday 6 February – Go Easy Walk
Lodge Lake/Loughton.  About 3½ miles, 1½+ hours.  All on hard surfaces.

Meet at 10.30 at Lodge Lake CP, Bradwell Road, Milton Keynes.  Bradwell Road is off the H4 (Dansteed Way) and is signed to the National Badminton Centre.  The Car Park is on right just before you get to Badminton Centre on the opposite side of the road. (Badminton Centre Postcode: MK8 9LA.)  If you come along the A5 dual carriage way, take the exit signed to National Badminton Centre and follow the shuttlecock signs.
The car park is small’ish, therefore car sharing recommended.  Please arrange lifts amongst yourselves. Walk start
Walk starts off round the small lake to Loughton Valley Park and on to the ancient village of Loughton, then passes the equestrian centre.  There are pretty views across the fields to the City centre.

Thursday 10th February

Aspley Heath walk
This walk will commence at the lay-by car park between Woburn & Woburn Sands on the left hand side coming from Woburn (1.25 miles from Woburn) at 10.00 am
This car park sometimes gets a lot of off-road cyclists so car share if possible & park off the road on the parking area
There will be a coffee stop but no lunch stop
The distance is 4 miles but could be extended if we get a nice warm sunny day

Thursday 17th FebruaryWrest Park / Gravenhurst   4.5 miles with Cafe at end This walk will go from Wrest Park to Shillington via Gravenhurst & back. It will be 5.5 miles in length & led by Jennie & Ged

Some parts are muddy so poles could be helpful. We will have a coffee / banana break at Shillington church to admire the viewsMeet at 10 am  in Wrest Park to commence walk

Either turn off the McDonald's roundabout on the A505 Leighton Buzzard bypass, and Hill View Lane is on your right, or come down Stanbridge Road and turn right onto the A440 and the street is on your left.

I will do a 6-7mile circular walk from Kimpton. If anyone wants to have lunch afterwards in The Boot and use their car park, please arrange that with the pub first but they have always allowed us to use the car park before so hopefully they will again. I will have to shoot off after the walk, I'm afraid, so I won't be able to join you.
For those of us not pubbing, we will have to park considerately along the street but I suggest we meet by the pub car park anyway,  ready to start out as soon as close to 10 am as possible. – Lynn

 Starting at 10 am from The Kiln Café, Stewartby. OS Ref. TL020423

From the middle of Ampthill, take the B530 towards Bedford.   In 2.2 miles turn left (signed Stewartby).   Go under the railway bridge, straight over the first round-about and just before the second round-about turn right into the car park.   You will see The Kiln sign high on the building which is behind the Stewartby shop. (Please do not park at The Kiln if you are not planning to have lunch there.   There is a small car park to the right of the shop or parking on the roadside.)

We need to pre-order food before we start walking.   We will have a separate, huge, indoor dining area at the Café to ourselves.

The walk will be through part of the Forest Centre to Millbrook Station and then, after a road walk, we will head across fields with expansive views of the Covanta Incinerator, returning to Stewartby via several tunnels under the two railways.

This is a gentle walk in Stockwood Park, including the Discovery Centre and Gardens
The cafe does not serve hot food but there are hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, rolls and cakes  (scones and cream are delicious!)

Proceed southwards down the M1.   Leave at Junction 10 and travel along the Spur Road.   Keep in the left hand lane and leave at the first run off.

At the round-about, go straight ahead along London Road towards Luton Town Centre.   At the first traffic lights turn left towards Stockwood Park Golf Centre.

Follow the road round to the right, then keep to the right.  The road ends at the Car Park.   There is no charge.

The route I have planned is a little over 7 miles but we can extend to include going up Ivinghoe Beacon if the weather’s good and people want to.
There are a couple of steeper climbs but there are no stiles and if it’s a nice day, there should be some lovely views of course.
I will meet everyone at the Ivinghoe Beacon NT car park on Beacon Road, which is the road off the B489 to Ringshall, ready to walk at 10 am. It will be a picnic lunch.

Meet at TVH car park at 9.20 to arrange car share if desired, or the National Trust car park at Totternhoe Knolls at 9.45.   -   Coffee break, and a picnic.
No need to book turn up on the day.  If terrain is dry we will go on some steep parts with rough grassland, if wet these will be avoided.

Saturday 14th August   -   6 mile circular walk from Pepperstock -  Meet 10.00 am at  HARPERS  COFFEE  SHOP.  Post Code   LU1 4LL   Park at far side of Parking area.
Directions - M1 South - J10 A ( Airport ) -  Harpenden Road  A1081.  Second right turn into HALF  MOON LANE. Cross over M1 - 1st left to Harpers, or A6 to Stockwood Park Roundabout then as above.    Lots of long grass and nettles !!
It would be nice if you could stay for a light lunch as we are parking there.
