Medieval Chapel Visit Thursday March 12th

I have been investigating a walk in M K calling in at Bradwell Abbey where there is a very old chapel with medieval wall paintings.
This is not normally open to the public but we can have a special guided tour for us. I would like to have a good attendance so please try & keep this date free. The walk will be about 4 miles in length with a shortened version for members who desire.. As it's a historical walk we may also visit the Roman villa for ancient history & the concrete cows for modern history. I would be grateful if you could let me know if you may be interested in joining me on this walk without any commitment

Ruth Betts funeral

Many members attended and some who couldn't attend, due to other engagements including holidays, gave their apologies.
The burial was in a lovely woodland glade with a great many people from many organisations connected with Ruth.
Several people gave a speech about Ruth's life. I gave a short speech on her activities with TRC & also our own experiences walking with her.
Geoff and her family were wonderful throughout
After the coffin had been lowered into the ground we scattered flower petals on it.
We then adjourned to a marquee where refreshments were taken with a great deal of conversation
Several members asked about a donation in memory of Ruth and how to donate
There are 3 nominated funds to donate to a) The Greensand Trust   b) HF Holidays   c) Mountain Rescue.   The club have donated to Scottish Mountain Rescue (not one of the 3)
These can be found on the Neville's website at https://www.nevillefuneralservice.com/current-funerals/view/113280   where donations can be made.
